I identify as Assyrian, an ethnic and linguistic minority group that is indigenous to the Upper Mesopotamia region. The term "Assyrians in Iraq" pertains to persons who presently dwell inside the geographical boundaries of Iraq. I am enrolled in a Master's programme in Public Health at the University of Western Sydney. As a dedicated pharmacy assistant with almost six years of hands-on experience, I have had the opportunity to work at the frontline, engaging with patients and guiding them through their health choices. Beyond my work, my journey to Australia at the age of 24 and overcoming the language barrier to achieve academic and professional success is a testament to my resilience and determination. It's been my privilege to meld my academic pursuits with real-world challenges, notably navigating the trials of the COVID-19 pandemic both as a student and a healthcare professional. I've always been a passionate advocate for health and wellness, striving for personal growth and empowering and educating the community around me. These commitments stem from a foundation built on values I hold dear - honesty, integrity, fairness, and compassion, to name a few. I often abide by professional and personal ideals, treating them as my guiding principles. Respect, kindness, and encouragement stand out, shaping my interactions and decisions in my professional and personal life. My foremost code for achieving success is demonstrating respect toward individuals and exhibiting kindness in my interactions with them." so that you will behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need."1 Thessalonians 4:12 I eagerly look forward to bringing my diverse experiences, rigorous academic training, and unwavering passion to contribute significantly to Australia's health sector.
